Batukanum represents the musical universe of Pernambuco. He masters musical improvisation and combines the rich regional traditions by mixing styles such as blues, coco, maracatu, ciranda with funk, electonika and rock.
Afro descent, Telmo comes from a humble upbringing where music was a part of life. His talent in percussion flourished as a child, growing up in a musically rich culture.
His love of music took him from Olinda to the World!
The band Batukanum combines the talents of his music students as well as local professional musicians, in a unique blend of the many genres, exposing many cultural aspects and the tough reality of life on the streets of Olinda Pernambuco, with an uplifting perspective. Batukanum shows ignite people in dance and good vibes.
